DAVIE —

People can drop off their outdated prescription drugs at the main lobby of the Davie Police Department on Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The department is participating in the Drug Enforcement Agency's National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, an effort to help curb the abuse of prescription drugs.

Prescription medication can be dropped off in the main lobby of the department at 1230 S. Nob Hill Road, on the southeast corner of Nob Hill and State Road 84.

Prescription drug abuse is a serious and growing problem in communities across Florida and the nation. The DEA program is designed to allow members of the public to turn in prescriptions that are outdated or no longer being used.
