Marchman Act Blog Local News: First Step Sober House: Man convicted of murder in slaying of Sober House founder

Jurors delivered a guilty verdict Friday in the ambush killing of the founder of a drug treatment center who was shot by men who stole the rent money he'd just collected from recovering addicts.

The defendant, Kino Bartholomew, 32, had once been a tenant at First Step Sober House in Pompano Beach, but was booted out when he failed to pay his rent.

After a trio of gunmen accosted Richard Entriken, 60, as he approached his car shortly after midnight on Jan. 26, 2008, authorities suspected the attackers had inside knowledge.
