Marchman Act Blog: Police Uncover Underground Marijuana Grow House
Two Westchester men have been charged after police found more than two dozen pot plants in a specially built basement under a home. During the course of a narcotics investigation, Miami-Dade police received a warrant to search the home at 7800 SW 29th Street. While nothing in the home was surprising, what was underneath it was. A basement of sorts had been dug out and constructed under the east side of the home and inside was an elaborate set up to grow marijuana. Police confiscated 26 pot plants and place Leiner Hidalgo and Luis Florencio Gonzalez Reyes under arrest. In addition to the drug charges, both are charged with grand theft because they allegedly stole the electricity to power the underground grow house.
