Marchman Act Blog: Drunk dad accused of letting son, 15, drive in Hillsborough County

TAMPA —

A man has been charged with child neglect after letting his 15-year-old son drive because he was too drunk, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's deputies stopped 41-year-old Darran Foraker's Dodge Caravan on Saturday night because its brake lights were out. That's when they discovered the van was being driven by Foraker's son.

According to deputies, the father said he was too drunk to drive and didn't have money to stay at a hotel because he spent it all on alcohol. He also told deputies he was too drunk to care for the teen.
