"It was exciting. It was scary. I can't explain it. It was a pretty amazing feeling," she said.
That was 17 months ago, and it was a life-changing experience for Delapine.
"I had a substance abuse problem and it pretty much ruined my life and it left me out on the streets and I was pretty helpless and I didn't think that I could find any way out of that situation."
She said she had been drinking and doing drugs since middle school.
"When I got out of high school, it took off from there and it continued to get worse," she said. "I started losing jobs. I lost my friends. I was living at home. My family really didn't want to have anything to do with me and eventually I just proceeded to do harder and harder drugs, and I left and never came back."
